Program
The Tenri Cultural Institute of New York - Tenri University exchange program provides extraordinary opportunity for the TCI students to experience Japanese culture and study the Japanese language in a supportive environment for one semester, September to January or one academic year, September to July.
Location
Tenri city, in the Nara prefecture which is one hour by train from Osaka and Kyoto, and two hours by train from Kobe.
The University
Tenri University was originally founded in 1925 as the Tenri Foreign Language School; it was reorganized as a university in 1949.
Accommodations
Exchange students may be offered housing in a university residence hall; however, residence hall rooms are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. When this is not possible, Tenri University will assist students with alternatives.
*Program Costs
Tuition for one semester, September to February: $1,000.00
Tuition for one academic year, September to July: $2,000.00
Students selected to participate on an exchange program are also responsible for supplemental insurance, international airfare, room and board, and all other living or personal expenses.
